**About an hour was spent on this so Lonestar needs to get it together.

  1. Lonestar’s license is  up for renewal.  There were 115 calls to 311 about the noise from this place.  Some times there were several calls to the place in one night. The 311 system has failed the residents.
  2. There are serious violations on the building as well.
  3. This place has complaints that have gone under the radar. CB10 was not informed of these calls. Now the neighbors of this place know to call CB 10 and report the noise.
  4. Lonestar has a huge barbecue built out of cement blocks – no complaints are about that
  5. There have been no new complaints about Lonestar and the backyard.

* Officer Kirshner didn’t have anything to add to this conversation. (Get us a new police officer). When all of these calls to 911 were made, why didn’t Officer Kirshner set up a meeting with this owner?

CB 10 gave them Lonestar an adjournment until  May 14th Committee Agenda

  • The restaurant needs to replace door
  • CB 10 has asked him not to use the yard and to evaluate the use of his business and the backyard.
  • Owner provides the neighbors with a  cell phone number
  • Show up with paperwork and his attorney

B) Traffic & Transportation Committee:

  • Approved: Application for 5th Avenue Weekend Walks, July 27, 2018 and August 17, 2018, 5th Avenue from 73rd – 83rd Streets, 5:00-10:00 PM;

  • Approved:  Application for 5th Avenue Spring Festival, June 3, 2018, 10AM – 6PM, on 5th Avenue between Bay Ridge Avenue and 85th Street

  • Approved: Traffic changes for school safety at PS 69  – 9th Avenue & 63rd Street  – 780 students go to this school, but it is in an industrial pocket with a lot of trucks. The principal simply wanted a traffic light (they had one on 64th and 9th), but they can’t get one on 63rd and 9th Avenue (turned down three times). Since they wouldn’t give another light, they had to have a traffic study which said to change the streets direction.

  • DENIED – Proposed CityBench Site at 9424 4th Avenue (from February agenda). A 311 call said the library requested it. The library said they did not request this. This would encourage loitering. (Thank you Community Board 10 – you know your area).  What came up was that this may be a good spot for community policing.

C) Parks Committee:

  • New York Road Runners Club Open Run in Shore Road Park (this will be the 14th club). A Saturday morning run for all runners starting at 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Participants can start and stop where they please. You can come alone or with a group.  There will be representatives from, the NYRR all along the route to keep it secure.  It will start on 79th Street and Shore Road Park. More info:  Join the New York Road Runners (NYRR) on April 28th at the Bookmark Shoppe  9:00 am.   The first day will be May 12th at 9:00 am and then every Saturday after that.

Congratulations to Community Board 10  Henry Stewart on his new  book, True Crime in Bay Ridge!

Hugs,
marlene
