Gino’s Mesclun Salad
I am in search of the best salad in Bay Ridge. I will add more as I try them. So far here’s what we got:
#1 – Campania Apple Salad – $9 So delicious! Campania’s salad is good!
#2 The Kettle Black 8622 3rd Avenue has a good chicken Cesar salad
#3 Panentico House Salad is delicious (grilled veggies with balsamic glaze) – order the small because it is pretty big
#4 Baby Olive -Corner of 86th Street and 14th Avenue. I get the Baby Phil, the Powerhouse or Baby Laurie – see choices here
#5 Nature’s Grill guadalajara salad with chicken
#6 Gino’s Pizzeria – (pictured above) Mesclun Salad with Grilled Peaches, Cherry Tomatoes and Blueberries in a Mango Vinaigrette (comes on the side) topped with Goat Cheese. Nice summer salad $8.25 (718) 748-1698
#7 Karam – Vegetarian Mixed Combo – hummus, baba ghanoush, tabouli salad, eggplant and tomato salad and a delicious bean salad – its in oil and lemon juice (I hate beans and this was so good) $12 I may get this when someone comes over and share it. This place also has amazing zatar bread (get one) and spinach pies (718)-745-5227
#8 Casa Calamari – Orange and Pear Salad – oranges, pears, walnuts and gorgonzola over mesculin $12.50 (917) 793-0632
#9 Spartan Souvlaki is now in Bay Ridge – Small garden Salad with a chicken stick – delicious – ask for the dressing on the side if you are ordering. $6.50. (718) 833-3851
#10 Cappuccino Cafe – Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad – crisp romaine lettuce, capers, croutons, tomato, parmesan cheese $9.00 – the dressing is delicious, but heavy. 718-238-8700
#11 Sunset Bagels on 87th street and 5th Avenue has a salad bar
#12 Chadwicks spinach salad
#13 Pegasus has good salads
#14 Family Store – Avocado and fennel salad
#15 Cocoa Grinder – Avocado smash salad
Kettle Black’s salad was recommended to this blog, but we haven’t tried it.
Subway has a cheap large salad…..if you like iceberg lettuce
