When is Pottery Barns Friends and Family Event?
Every year, Pottery Barn holds its best sale of the year – the F&F weekend sale. Pottery Barn’s Friends and Family Sale is always held on the second weekend of October so mark your calendars for October 13th and October 16th. (Thanks Jeni) It’s 20% off everything that is in stock in their store. Online orders are not valid because there is no coupon code for the sale. This sale also doesn’t include many larger pieces of furniture that are not stocked in their stores.
In 2009, I shopped in Pottery Barn two weeks before and they provided me with a postcard announcing the Friends and Family sale. I purchased something small and I remember being so excited to be invited for the sale.
In 2010, we furnished half of our home with Pottery Barn items and we were not invited or notified of the sale. I called the store and told them I didn’t receive the card.
So what are we buying at this year’s PB Friends and Family sale? The Hudson Chifforobe currently has my eye.
BTW, if you have a mover’s coupon for 10 off, you can not use it with the 20% OFF Pottery Barn Friends and Family deal. *To get a mover’s coupon, you change your address with the post office.
There is one other way to get a 10% off code, you can make a registry at PB and after the date of your event has passed, you get a 10% discount off of the remaining items.

Actually, the event will start on Thursday, the 13th and run throught Sunday, the 16th. As for the piece you have you’re eye on, that’s not something that the store stocks, so more than likely, you could *not* use your F&F discount for it. But all the other information you have posted is correct.

Do you have to have a coupon in order to get the discount?

In the past, the stores have given out the coupon the week before when you made a purchase.
Two years ago, I purchased thousands of dollars of furniture and I am a PB credit cart holder and I wasn’t invited to the event. I called the store and they told me to come in and they would take care of me. They did!

What about items already on sale? Or is it just original priced product?

The friends and family card can be used on sale items, but may not be combined with other discounts or offers (like the 10% movers coupon)
The sales change a bit before the F&F deal begins. I didn’t find a lot of items in the clearance section during this sale.
The discount is valid on in-stock store merchandise only. My store didn’t have the Hudson tall dresser in stock (although it was on display) so they wouldn’t let me use the F&F on it. I ordered it separate with my new home owner coupon See Jeni’s comment above about how I won’t be able to use the code on the piece I was thinking about.
What pieces are you thinking of ordering? I love PB so I would love to hear about it.

Just have my eye on a couple area rugs mostly. They have one marked down already and I am not even sure it’s in stores..will have to check. Otherwise just some pillows, mirror, file cabinet etc etc :) I like it all!
