Stuff that works for me…

My sweetie often comments on the weird things I do that actually work well:

  • After painting with latex paint, I throw my paint clothes, the paintbrush and painting rag in the washing machines - yep everything goes in and gets clean. This doesn’t work with oil paint though.
  • I keep a dinner candle out for anytime I need to light something with a match. I light the candle and then I don’t have to rush to pass my light to the stove, birthday candles, etc.
  • I reuse the mustard and ketchup squeezable bottle to hold glue. It’s great to have some Elmer’s wood glue around when something in the house needs a tap in a jiffy.
  • I keep a present closet. Yep, a closet to hold a few bottles of win for when we are invited to someone’s house, a few Barnes and noble gift cards, a couple of children’s books, etc.
  • I love to keep life interesting so every week or two I try to have a new drink. This week is an Eyeball-tini   Happy Halloween Everyone!

Yep, that’s my list of assorted things that work for me this week . Click here to see more from Shannon’s Works for Me Wednesday ideas.

This is why I love Works for Me Wednesday! A great chance to find new blogs (and, almost as good, tips I can use).

I’ve been meaning to put together a present closet for a couple of years now. Key ingredient: gift bags (there are some good do-it-yourself gift bag posts around lately; I like the one at http://almostfrugal.com.

What a great way to reuse your mustard and ketchup bottles! Such a GREAT idea.

I have a present closet too. It has saved so many times when kids have come home with last minute parties.

Ah, the present closet! A true WFMW. I was just going through mine this afternoon and realized it is being taken over by CVS and WAGS deals. Toothpaste anyone? And, thanks for stopping by my blog today. :)

Look at all of us with present closets! I have one too. Technically, it’s the present “boiler room with a shelf” but nobody need to know that, right? ;)

    Awesome eyeballtini!

So do you wash the bottles first or do you get red and yellow glue? That could cause some confusion issues….

My husband would literally birth a cow if I put all that in the washing machine.

That is a very diverse list. I would not have thought of washing the paintbrush like that…

I like your gift closet idea! I do have some gift items laying around, but they really should be all in one area, so I know what I have. Thanks for your suggestion!
