February 15, 2025Jumaane Williams Lives in Our Area and Does Nothing Here….Yet He Received an Endorsement From a Bay Ridge Group?

At 8:30 pm on Friday, February 14th, the Bay Ridge Democrats endorsed Jumaane Williams with a graphic on Twitter (now called X). Kayla Santosuosso is the head of the Bay Ridge Democrats.
Jumaane Williams lives on the Fort Hamilton Army Base. (Source) We should see him at events, helping the community and leading here. Besides one parade, I have never seen him in the area.
Jumaane Williams is a socialist. (See here)

We contacted Jumaane Williams by mail right after he was elected Public Advocate. Months later, he didn’t respond and I wrote to him on Twitter. Jumaane Williams has 50 employees and none of them could help. (Source)
Williams had a staffer send my husband an email saying he would work on the problem. It’s years later and we never heard from Jumaane Williams.

February 14, 2025Justin Brannan Failed to Communicate Important Information with Our Community – Vote No

Today, Councilman Justin Brannan made a tacky video. We don’t need a Comptroller who makes videos.
Our community has seen Councilman Brannan repeatedly fail to share important information:
1) Justin Brannan knew about The homeless shelter on 4th Avenue. He and other politicians, as well as Community Board 10 received notice from the city and Brannan failed to share that information with the community. (See notice) When Brannan failed, Andrew Gounardes and CB 10 should have shared the letter.
2) The City of Yes and the Carveout deal Justin Brannan made included his home. (Information)
3) The school at Nathan’s and Brannan’s friend was the secret lobbyist. (Info here) Another school on 5th Avenue and 88th Street is coming soon.
4) Justin Brannan was lobbied over the loading zones. Brannan thinks the loading zone on 3rd Ave and 92nd Street is for him to park his Jeep while he goes to Paneantico. (Source) (Photo here)
5) Justin Brannan was lobbied over the casino in Coney Island. (See here) While the people fight for their community, Justin Brannan is not with them.
6) Brannan speeds in red light camera zones. (Info) He was lobbied over these camera. There were more crashes and people injured in 2023 and 2024 in Bay Ridge. (Info)
7) Justin Brannan’s campaign was fined – he’s been in politics for years and knows the rules. Why did he have violations and receive so many penalties? (Source)
8) Justin Brannan was lobbied over property in other boroughs. (See here) Lobbyists won.
9) When NYS cut funding to afterschool programs in Bay Ridge, Andrew Gounardes didn’t tell families. When the cuts were known, Justin Brannan didn’t cut spending and find money for the afterschool programs. There were still parties in the park, while families need help with afterschool. At Christmas, there were multiple tree lighting parties with taxpayers money. One tree lighting should have happened and the other money should have put towards afterschool programs.
10) After Covid, teachers were switched to different schools after the school year began because NYC’s money was not correct. Who didn’t manage the money well?
11) The 30+ year contract at Animal Care and Control went down while Justin Brannan was in charge of contracts. (Info here) Someone who loves animals would NEVER have done this. There was this article this week.
12) This is the not-so-warm welcome NYC Park activists received when they went to Justin Brannan’s office. He dodged their calls and they showed up to speak to him. Brannan told them that he requested a hearing, but he did not. (See the video)

February 14, 2025Our Car Got Hit in Brooklyn, But By a Nice Person

Our car was hit while parked outside a business on Monday morning.
The workers accidently hit into it and broke the window and damaged the door. They found Lee and told him what happened. Neighbors saw it happen and told Lee as well. They shared places where to get the car fixed.
Lee told the employee at the place where it was hit where he took the car for repair. A few days later, Lee went to the shop to pick up the car. The $3,000 bill had been paid.
