When People Have the Chance to do the Right Thing…..Why do they do the wrong thing?

Simple question which should have a simple answer, right?

Not really.

I constantly watch or hear about people doing the wrong thing. I don’t mean kids because kids do silly things sometimes.

I mean adults – people 25+

It’s not hard to do the right thing and it most often doesn’t involve any extra effort to do the right thing.

So why don’t people do the right thing?

Selfishness? Stupidity? Jealousy?  I’ve watched people who are related to me and people who I would consider friends do the wrong thing EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW it’s the wrong thing. I just don’t get it.

My brother is the biggest stalker in the world. He works for Horizon Blue Cross and continues to come to my blog to research me. It started out that he was searching for my brother and then my father. He continues to come back to my blog and has logged 18 hours while at work looking at my blog in March. Woahhh that’s a lot.

4/2/12 edit:  My brother was on my blog another hour today.

4/10/12 edit: This week, you can see he visited again looking for my Dad, but he quickly goes off that page. He’s obviously looking for something and has an awful lot of free time to spend searching – 27 minutes today.

Too much jealousy….he can’t help it.

I remember when he and his wife came to our new apartment many years ago. Do you remember that? She said to Neal…’this place is really nice.’ And you asked her if your brother said it wasn’t. She smiled and was being polite because your brother had spoken about your place without even seeing it.

I think he has always had that jealousy problem – I don’t think it ever goes away. Your mom was jealous of her brother even though he was far away and even though they were both adults too, right?

I know what you mean K.
