MASONRY RESTORATION  TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM  at 783 4th Avenue (27th Street) in Brooklyn

This opportunity for New Yorkers between the ages of 18 and 27 to  pursue a career in the skilled building trades, such as brick masonry, stonemasonry and landmark preservation. The program  is offered by Green-Wood in partnership with Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT).

The 10-week paid Masonry Restoration Technician Training Program begins in March 2018. Interns selected by Green-Wood and OBT will learn how to care for historic buildings made of marble, granite and brownstone – a highly sought-after skill in today’s market. Green-Wood’s historic mausoleums will be utilized as the foundation for the training.

The mission of the program is to prepare participants for entry-level construction positions in stone restoration and associated trades. This unique initiative is a collaboration between OBT, Green-Wood, World Monuments Fund, and the International Masonry Institute.

There are open houses at OBT on January 10 from 1 pm to 4 pm; January 24 from 6 pm to 8 pm; and February 7 from 6 pm to 8 pm.

To register or for more information, please call OBT at 718-369-0303.
