    It’s September 20th and I just spotted the first signs of Halloween – Halloween blow up in the Bay Streets.  Fall and Halloween are my favorites!  (If you want to add an event, leave a comment at the bottom.)

    Every Weekend October 7th – November 5th – Green Meadows Farm at Aviator Sports 11 am – 4 pm.  $9 a person – ALL GUESTS RECEIVE A FREE PUMPKIN WITH PAID ADMISSION!   Activities include:   Friendly Animals, Hayride,  Haunted House, Milk a Cow, Corn Box, Operate a bulldozer and Giant Hay Wagon Slide.  Buy tickets online.

    October 8th – Harvest Festival at the Narrows Botanical Gardens (Shore Road/70th Street).   Raindate: 10/15.   Free They are having a dog costume contest  $15 per entry – Free to watch  Dogs must register by 10/7 (Norma’s Craft Store is one place to register – 7813 3rd Ave).     October 14thHealthy Path Fall Festival in Staten Island – Bring the kids for a fun filled day of Games, Bounce Houses, Great Food, Face Painting, Yoga, Pumpkin Picking, and much more!  We will showcase our Top Ten Healthy Habits and teach the kids about living a healthy lifestyle. $25 per child.     October 24th Prospect Park Alliance Harvest Festival – 1- 4 pm. Lefferts Historic House  452 Flatbush Avenue. Celebrate this year’s harvest with Prospect Park Alliance! Harvest, cook, and eat potatoes that were planted in our garden back in May. You can also challenge friends and family to potato sack races. Free, but Registration needed.

    Oct 25-Oct 30th  3-9 pm. Free entry – The 78th Precinct Haunted Halloween Basement – 65 6th Avenue, Brooklyn – They have this every year and it’s fantastic. Free (it’s less crowded on the week nights before Halloween).

     

    October 26th – Fontbonne Hall Academy at 9901 Shore Road will have a Harvest Happening.$10 per family or $5 a child covers everything except baked goods. Each homeroom at the high school is running an event for kids to help the school fundraiser.  3:30-5:30 pm

Costume Contest every hour.

     

    October 28thHalloween Haunted Walk & Fair at Prospect Park from 12 to 3 pm – Good event for children ages 7-12. All ages can enjoy a festive Halloween Fair on the Nethermead, featuring family-friendly activities, as well as sweet and savory treats from some of the city’s top food trucks. Discover spooky creepy crawlers at the Audubon Center at its annual Creepy Crawly Halloween, get spooked with Scary Stories at Lefferts Historic House with master storyteller Tammy Hall, or take a spin on the 1912 Carousel to the sounds of chilling Halloween music.     October 31st – The annual Park Slope Civic Council Halloween Parade kicks off from 14th Street and 7th Avenue at 6:30 pm. The parade will head north on 7th Avenue, turn left on 3rd Street and end in J.J. Byrne Playground at the Old Stone House. This is a family-friendly event with a focus on children.  Free
