    Fishing For Children in Brooklyn

    Children under age 16 don’t need a license to fish in NY, but adults do – get one online or you can go to DF Brothers Sports Center at 7919 New Utrecht Avenue  718-0259-4924 and get a permit for the day $5.00


    Prospect Park has a Pop-Up Audubon sponsored by Macys on Saturday and Sunday at 1 pm and 3 pm all summer until August 31st.  It allows children under 15 to go fishing in Prospect Park using equipment provided.  Free


    Central Park – Catch and Release Fishing – Bamboo fishing rods can be borrowed if you leave picture ID   at the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center. 110th Street between Lenox and 5th Avenue. Bring some sandwiches and drinks and make a day at of fishing.  April – mid-October
