Brooklyn Newborn Baby Put in Trash

A newborn baby boy was found in a garbage bag inside a garbage compactor in the basement of an apartment building in Brooklyn. Eighteen year old, Laquasia Wright was arrested today for allegedly throwing her son down the garbage chute.Twenty-three year old, Dawa Lama apparently put her newborn in trash bin in the emergency room bathroom. The news reported that after dumping her child, she went home and ate and then went to bed.My heart breaks.  There are more stories like them and it’s been happening in NYC for years.  I understand why young women are dumping their babies – they are just scared. They aren’t bad people, but they are afraid of their lives changing and they are afraid to disappoint their families.I can’t hear these stories and not do anything. If you are not part of the problem, then you are suppose to be part of the solution. So if you don’t know what to do with your baby, please don’t harm it. There are safe havens all over the city – (here’s Brooklyns)If you are planning on getting rid of a baby just  leave your baby on my stoop (324 95th Street Brooklyn) and ring my bell.  I’m registering as a safe haven home and NY law is that you can leave an infant with an adult and not be charged with a felony. If you do not reclaim you baby, the baby will be adopted by a family on the waiting list. If you are pregnant and scared and need to get rid of a baby because you don’t know what else to do, bring it over.*Oh and my address is published with my name all over the web already so it’s no secret to anyone – google my name and you will see it.Women in Brooklyn, NY need to be taught that it is okay to surrender your child legally in NYC. They are now thinking of teaching this in high school health classes. If you abandon your child, you are committing a crime. Yet, if you surrender your child at the hospital or other safe havens no crime is committed.

Hugs,
marlene
